Edward Bulmer is unique amongst interior designers in also being an architectural historian, ‘colourman’, eco-worrier and farmer whose expertise, passion and knowledge has led to the creation of a range of beautiful, natural and environmentally friendly paints.

Edward’s background is in architectural history, picture conservation and interior design – he currently heads a highly focused design team bringing traditional knowledge and environmental sensitivity to a range of private and commercial projects. What started over thirty years ago as an assistant’s job in David Mlinaric’s office and then assistant in Alec Cobbe’s studio has led to he and his wife Emma running their game changing natural paint company from a converted cattle byre at the centre of their organic farm in unspoilt Herefordshire.

The acclaimed paints are changing the modern paint industry through using only natural ingredients, resulting in the most beautiful finish in just two coats - high quality paints that look beautiful, protect buildings and avoid polluting our environment.

Edward works principally in historic buildings, working to create comfortable, practical and beautiful homes. His aim is to create schemes that are relevant today but resonate with the past - from evidence based restoration to reimagining period interiors, ‘Comfortably modern yet historically resonant’..
