Interior designer and BIID member Amanda Ransom is a specialist in the sympathetic treatment of historic homes, informed by her long-standing love of classical architecture, its proportions and period furnishings.
After a City career, Amanda retrained at the Inchbald School of Design and learnt her craft employed by firms renowned for their work on period houses before setting up her own practice. She collaborates with many specialist trades and craftsmen in the fields of restoration and renovation and can help source antiques or breathe new life into a client’s collection. She creates interiors in the best English classical tradition that are comfortable, elegant and timeless. Recent projects on listed properties include two large Georgian country houses - one in the West Country and another closer to London, a Georgian townhouse in Mayfair, restoration of a famous Syrie Maugham Art Deco bathroom, a villa in Regent’s Park and a Tudor Farmhouse.
