Susie Rumbold is Past President of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). She became BIID President after holding several key roles including CPD Director and Vice President. She now works closely with Charles Leon, current President of the BIID, to ensure continuity on Council.
As BIID President, Susie oversaw the launch of the Institute's online learning platform, The BIID Knowledge Hub. She was responsible for helping to raise the profile of the BIID as the UK’s preeminent membership body and industry voice for professional interior designers, both at home and abroad, including leading a diplomatic trade mission to Japan in November 2016.
In her role as CPD Director, Susie oversaw the Institute's CPD programme of seminars, lectures and tours was responsible for launching the annual BIID CPD Provider Showcase; a highly acclaimed day of BIID accredited CPD seminars.
Susie is the Founder and Creative Director of Tessuto, a successful, multidisciplinary design studio, based in London. Established in 1993, Susie has built up a prestigious portfolio of commercial and private clients. Her practice specialises in both the design of large residential developments for the sales and private rental sectors, and luxury homes for private clients.
Susie is regularly approached for expert commentary on interior design issues and appears frequently in the national and trade media. She is also in-demand as a speaker on interior design issues, giving talks and chairing discussions at design events across the country.
Susie was born and educated in Melbourne, Australia. She is married with one daughter and lives in central London.
